LeBron James, or better known as King James by basketball fans all over America, is a new addition to the Miami Heat. James played basketball at St. Vincent- St. Mary High school in Akron, Ohio. LeBron's skills were so extrodinary that he was drafted into the NBA right out of high school. The Big 3
The big 3 of miami, consists of Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and LeBron James. These three players were the superstars of the NBA in the 2009-2010 season, and now have joined the same team to dominate the league. Not only are these three currently on the same team, but they were all also drafted in the top 5 overall picks in the 2003 NBA Draft. Dwyane Wade has been on the Heat since 2003, when he was drafted. Bosh, was the second player to commit to the thrice, but was officially signed July 9, 2010. Then finally came one of the most anticipated decisions in NBA history. On July 8, 2010, LeBron James announced on national television that he will be playing in South Beach for the Miami Heat. These three will hopefully dominate the NBA.
Carlos Arroyo
Carlos Arroyo is a Puerto Rican professional basketball plyer who eventually transitioned over the the NBA. Arroyo started his carrer in the National Superior Basketball League of Puerto Rico while also studying at Florida International University and playing on the campus team. Once graduating college, Arroyo was picked up by the Toronto Raptors in the 2001 NBA Draft. He was dropped from the team in 2002. Arroyo then joined the Utah Jazz for the 2002-2003 season where he got very little playing time until the 2003-2004 season, when he started. For the 2004-2005 season, Arroyo played for the Jazz, until he was traded to the Detroit Pistons. These team transitions continued until 2009, when Arroyo signed with the Miami Heat. He is currently the starting point-guard for the Miami Heat, wearing number 8.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Zydrunas Ilgauskas, started professional basketball in his hometown of Kaunas, Lithuania. Ilgauskas was picked 20th overall in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. In 2010, the move of LeBron to Miami influenced him to go with his long-time teammate, and thus he joined the Miami Heat. He is currently the starting center for the Miami Heat, wearing the number 11
Game 1 of 2010-2011 Season
After all the hype about Miami's Big 3, the original Boston Celtics Big 3 prevailed in the Miami Heats Season opener, with an 80-88 Heat loss. The leading scorer for the Celtics was Rajon Rondo with 20 points. In this game, the Heats big three combined for a total of 52 points, 31 contributed by LeBron James. The bench contributed with the accumulation of only 23 points. This lack of support is what I believed caused the loss of the game. The big 3 player very well together for their first, regular season game.
So what if we have one loss, I guess were gonna have to end our season 81-1?
